The Eureka Retreat is located in Maine's Lakes and Mountains Region near historic Paris Hill and the White Mountain National Forest. We are approximately 1 hour from Portland International Jetport (shown above) and 3.5 hours from Boston Logan. We are relatively centrally located with the coast, the mountains, and the city all within about an hour's drive. Welcome to Maine! It's Big!
Most of our guests travel to Maine from points to our south. Take exit #75 on the Maine Turnpike (Lewiston-Auburn). From exit #75, take Route 4 North to Turner and then Route 117 West into Buckfield. We are located on Darnit Road in North Buckfield just past Benson Road.
If you are arriving from points to our north, be aware that it is better to go through South Paris or Turner before trying to navigate to our address. Otherwise, your GPS or smart phone may bring you through Sumner where the roads into Buckfield are unpaved.
Please be aware that Google Maps will bring you short of 357 Darnit Road to an empty field. Other smart phones or GPS devices however should work correctly.
